Stringless Vocal Group performing live at AVLAIA Theater in Thessaloniki Greece.
The first song is called “Dostum dostum” . It’s a folk song from the Sivas region of Turkey , written by the legendery Alevi poet Pir Sultan Abdal who lived in the 16th century. ‘Dostum’ means ‘my friend’. The music was created by another well known modern day Alevi singer and folk poet Aşık Ali Sultan.
The second song is called “Helios” which means “sun” in greek. Written and composed by Alexia Chrysomalli this song talks about the greatness of the sun. The power and the beauty of the lifegiving sun… The rythym of the song is based on traditional Thracian music. Alexia also performs the song herself , since she is a member of Stringless vocal group.
